One of the most difficult questions we get asked is:  “How’s Rachel doing?”   It’s always a struggle to come up with a way to cram all her updates in a sentence or two.

This blog was created when Becka and Rachel were admitted to Children’s Institute in Pittsburgh to keep friends and family updated on her condition.  We have friends from all over the state of Pennsylvania and Indiana, and we thought the best way to communicate the news was Rachel’s own blog.   After Rachel came back home, we’ve tried to keep it semi-current (although life sometimes gets in the way of being really frequent with updates!)  Sometimes, the answer to “How’s Rachel doing” is not something we want to repeat over and over.  It’s much easier on our emotional state to be able to just say “read the blog”.

We encourage all visitors to post a comment and say hi. Your words of encouragement mean everything to us.  Sometimes when we’re having a really frustrating time, someone will post a comment and it brightens up our day!

One Response to “About”

  1. Hi, sorry it has taken me forever to email you. First I wanted to say thank you for the gift you sent me. I have enjoyed the candle. I hope Rachel is doing well. I took time to go through the blog and she looks happy as usual, love her smile. My life has, to say the least, taken a new path. It was a difficult time at the end of the 08-09 school year for me. My decision to move from the area and begin a new job was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. It was harder than I imagined to start over, i’m still struggling a little but each day is a step forward. I will check back often to follow Rachel’s progress. Lily
